Photo by @argonautphoto (Aaron Huey). Today I am driving across Texas, thinking back on a time I walked across this same part of the country. In 2002 I walked 3,349 miles from Encinitas, CA to New York City in 154 days. It wasn't fun, but it was life changing and humbling. It was the journey that taught me how to really reach out (camera in hand) to strangers in America, how to communicate in brief encounters on the streets, and most importantly, how to truly see the people around me.
