A women walks along a path in a salt mine that has been in continuos use since the Inca's first meet the Spanish. The mine is in the foothills of the Andes, near Cusco, in the sacred valley. A large portion of the population in this section of the Andes lives as it might have hundreds of years ago. The Spanish took control of the Inca Empire on November 16 1532.
