For World Water Day on March 22, @unicef is reaching out to Instagrammers like you around the globe to show us how children perceive their basic right to safe, clean water - something that 768 million people go without.
The format is simple: ask children to answer the question, "What does water mean to you?" Have them hold up answers on a sheet of paper, starting with #waterIS ________.

The photos may also show how they get their water or use water (for example, pumps, wells, storage containers, etc. in the background). A caption or description that complements the photo is welcome but not necessary. These are only suggestions and YOUR creativity is the key! How it works: 1. Take up to 8 youth portraits (age range: 6-25 years old). Feel free to use both smartphones and professional cameras. 2. Share your photos on Instagram beginning March 19, using the hashtag #wateris and tagging @unicef. Be sure to save a few of the photos for March 22, World Water Day. 3. On World Water Day, we'll regram as many photos to our 25,000 followers as possible, plus share our favorites across our social media platforms that reach more than 5 million people!
