Photo by @daveyoder--an ALMA radio telescope built by NRAO searches the heavens for traces of the Big Bang at 17k feet altitude in the high Atacama desert in Chile. Shot on assignment for a story appearing in the April issue of @ナショナルジオグラフィック magazine. This largest-ever astronomy project, comprised of 66 such telescopes all networked into a huge mobile array, is a joint venture between North America, Europe and Asia. #alma #chile #atacama @thephotosociety
