With a thickness of 3.95mm and a diameter of 31mm, the P.4000 consists of 203 components, including 31 jewels. The micro-rotor nestles alongside an oversized bridge that in turn sits next to a dual-support balance cock, the two screws allowing more accurate adjusting of the balance wheel as well as providing greater strength and stability to the balance cock itself. Operating at 4Hz or 28,800 vph, the calibre has two independent but connected barrels capable of storing enough power to keep the watch running for at least three days when both barrels are fully loaded. It is also fitted with a hacking device – which stops not just the seconds hand but also the balance wheel when the winding crown is pulled out, allowing its wearer to set the time precisely to the second – as well as an anti-shock system created by Vallée de Joux-based experts in the field, Kif Parechoc. #Panerai
