The ice will melt soon but its flow won't reach the Sea of Cortez as the Colorado no longer crosses its delta anymore. I shot this image from the open door of a friend's #helicopter two days ago, trying to highlight drought, #water demands and solutions being employed to restore rivers like the #Colorado. Tragically, the talented pilot that enabled this rare vantage, perished today in an accident flying for another job. It is often too easy to forget the dangers of #aerial imagery. I will forever think of my longtime helicopter friend when I look at this image - and the hundreds more he helped me produce.
