Nelson Mandela was a true leader. A man with a vision to change the world, and the courage to fight for that vision. He spent 27 years in prison. Whilst he was behind bars, he was limited to only 1 visitor per year, and could write/receive a letter every 6 months. Despite his lack of communication to the outside world, he still went on to complete a law degree, and led the movement against Apartheid. 4 years after his release, Nelson Mandela become the first black president of South Africa, ridding his country of a shocking racial segregation.
An advocate for peace, equality, and "a better life for all", Nelson Mandela thought he could change the world, and that's exactly what he did. May his legacy live on for generations to come.
