In the spirit of a BarkBox Halloween, we wanted to share this very touching rescue story with you!

This is Inca, she's been with us for about 8 years now. Her previous owner decided she wasn't worth having anymore and just wanted her gone. Thankfully my brother knew him and said he would take her in. Long story short and I'll spare you the details of her crappy previous life, my brother drove her 12 hours to Maryland so she could live with us. She took to my husband instantly and has been the most amazing dog since day one. She calmed our other rescue dog, Murray and helped his separation anxiety instantly. I included the Princess Leia picture not only for the cuteness but to show you how happy she is just to be loved, she actually enjoys wearing clothes and gets tons of attention every year when she wears either her costume or one of her many comic book themed shirts to our local store's free comic book day in May.
My account on Instagram is @sophiapahawkins it's not set to private so you can see Inca and our other three rescued dogs. Inca, Rocco, and Sophie were no longer wanted by their owners and just tossed aside like stuffed animals. Murray was born in a shelter and I happened upon him at a pet store holding an adoption fair. I'm thankful everyday that this furkids are in my life, they really are our children and we would do anything for them.
