If the beautiful we're not in us, how would we ever recognize it?" From the tiniest molecules to the vastness of space, our world is bursting with beauty. The oceans, mountains, trees, flowers, people, history, culture all offer a view of the exquisiteness of life itself. I agree with Haas that beauty is a part of us and we are a part of nature - a part of the world. However, nature is subject to constant change. And there is a paradox that the species that live in the harshest environments are the most vulnerable to the current rapid climate change. I have found these species on the edge to be very special, delicate and easily damaged. The best word I know to describe them would be "fragile." So that is why I titled my upcoming book of nature and environmental photographs "Our Beautiful, Fragile World."
