Exactly 45yrs ago Tommie Smith and John Carlos shocked the world when they raised their fists wearing black gloves in a black power salute during the 200 meter track and field medal ceremony at the Mexico City 1968 Olympic Games.Both men are SJSU alums and I had the pleasureof meeting Mr Carlos last year at the SJSU homecoming game.what an inspiring, humble and all around iconic man. #honored
