Rush hour in a downtown Beijing subway station. No room for error!
When I first moved to Beijing six years ago, a taxi driver told me the city's subway was really crowded, with "people stacked like postcards"! I laughed at the cute expression at the time, and then when I rode the subway...I discovered he wasn't really trying to be humorous!
