Helicopter surveying of red beetle infested trees as part of the Alberta government's mountain pine beetle control program. In this region near Grande Prairie they have identified GPS locations of over 136,000 newly infested pine trees in the last month. In the winter, crews will go back and cut down infested trees and burn them on the spot. The program is trying to stop the spread of the beetle east across the boreal forest of Canada.
