As part of the coverage for a story on nitrogen fertilizer, I photographed on an Amish farm where they use cow manure to get nitrogen on the field. This is the old-fashioned way that all farmers used before the invention on synthetic fertilizer and it is much more sustainable. The Amish just match the number of dairy cows they have to the amount of acres of corn that they farm. The Amish don't like to have their faces shown in a photo, so I had to photograph them from behind. This turned out to be the best angle to show the manure flying off the spreader wagon, but was a little dicey for the photographer and camera if I got to close to the flying clumps of nitrogen which often go by other names.
