STORYTIME:

Let me set the scene for you all first. It was the hottest day of the entire summer / year in Dallas — there was a “heat advisory” and it was “encouraged to stay indoors” all day. But of course, the entire (HOLIDAY aka the coats, sweaters, boots, etc) collection campaign shoot was always book weeks if not months ahead of time - and it was THE ONLY day every single one of us could be available that month.

Back to the story - we started our day before the sun and now fast forward thru the day, 2,000+ photos, almost 12 hours and roughly 20+ looks / locations, we were FINALLY on our last shot and look of the day…. which happened to be one of my favorite looks / dresses from my entire collection. AKA I was saving it for last (silly me) but I had a *vision* for exactly how I wanted to shoot it. We were all beyond exhausted and now racing against the clock and sunlight….and of course my little *vision* was to shoot this dress during golden hour.

As you all know, there is literally minutes and seconds between getting the perfect moment of golden hour / sunset and missing it. So here we are, downtown Dallas, everyone SPRINTING (and I’m sure screaming at me in their mind) after me through the streets and up 8 flights of stairs — I thought there was an elevator in this little parking garage, but turns out I was wrong haha.

Finally making it all the way up to the rooftop, I jumped on to a 4 foot high pillar with my back to the sun and SO carefully turned around in slow motion hoping praying and wishing I didn’t just make everyone almost die JUST to get this final shot…. As I turned around and saw that we did in fact make it JUST IN TIME for the most perfect moment I tried to take a huge breath and I tried to scream THANK FREAKING GOODNESS WE DIDN’T MISS IT - but no words came out. All we got was *THIS PHOTO THAT TRULY SAYS A MILLION WORDS AND MORE*

So there ya go… there’s the real story behind this photo. And yes I have thanked and apologized (lol oops) my entire team over and over and over again for not just this moment, but the true passion, hard work, dedication, support, and love 💕 It was a moment and day I will forever remember. Love you all
