The Paris Supercross actually started in the middle of March 1984, believe it or not on a Wednesday and a Thursday—the promoters wanted to get top U.S. SX riders David Bailey, Johnny O’Mara, Broc Glover and Rick Johnson there, so they put it in the middle of the Daytona and Talladega SX rounds in the states. O’Mara and Bailey would split the wins, with Bailey earning “King of Paris” honors (though back then it was King of Bercy, which was the old venue on the outskirts of the city) @supercross_de_paris 🇫🇷 #ParisSupercross
