The production started from wanting to pick up just the sounds that objects were emitting. I listened to various sounds using a contact microphone and rubbed or tapped non-instrumental "things." When I collected sounds this way and listened to S (Sound) and N (Noise)—which used to be acknowledged as opposites but now have become interchangeable—I realized that M (Music) was missing. A desire arose in me that I needed M in the sounds I wanted to hear. I became conscious to the fact that M was necessary in one form or another and I began to include elements of M in my composition.
