My heart has been heavy watching the tragic death and suffering of innocent civilians in Israel and Palestine. I made this Israel/Palestine image as a painting over ten years ago to reflect the stress of living under the threat of violence on either side of the literal or cultural divide between Israel and Palestine. It has been hard for me to articulate my feelings about the unjustifiable suffering that many on both sides have tried to justify by painting the other side as “other”, “evil”, and generally less human. We are all equally human and worthy of living in peace and safety. I am moved by what @kidcudi posted a couple of days ago, so I’m reposting it here… he says things better than I could.
