Underweight, swollen, and unable to sleep or to stop crying, Luul was diagnosed with severe malnutrition at a health centre. Therapeutic milk and a paste full of calories and nutrients called ready-to-use therapeutic food provided by UNICEF helped her recover. “There’s a huge difference between today and when she was first admitted to the hospital,” says Salaado. “She has now regained her strength.
