To celebrate, we're highlighting the book, "Richard Serra: Transmitter," which was published on the occasion of the 2021 exhibition of the same name at Gagosian, Le Bourget. "Transmitter" measures 4 meters in height, 17.7 meters in width, and 18.2 meters in length, and was installed in the gallery’s vast main exhibition space, which was formerly an airplane hangar. Alongside extensive photography of the sculpture reproduced in black and white, the bilingual publication features a new text by art historian Maria Stavrinaki that tracks Serra’s long sculptural practice through three formal, temporal, and political moments.
