He's been working late most nights for the last couple of weeks it's been me and my littles riding solo at night.

The better days are when I have time to prep their food before I go and collect them, but often I can't because of work being busy or last mi
I love the evenings with them though amongst the madness. It's harder when Ada needs to breastfeed as then I'm more limited, but otherwise I'll pop Ada in her walker and play with Alf.

Once Ada has had her bath she feeds and sleeps so I don't really get out of my room until about 9pm. I won't lie it feels a bit like groundhog Day at the moment - I miss my evenings and my friends, especially as I'm up a lot in the night too. But I keep telling myself these moments will pass quickly and with everything happening in the world I'm just so grateful.

I find juggling two tricker than I exoect though! Like tonight I decided to take them to our independent book shop to celebrate Alf using the potty. How hard can it be to go to a bookshop, right?

But as soon as I got Alf out of the pram to pick a book, Ada wanted to be picked up and fed, but Alf kept picking up books and dropping them. I'm pretty chilled and Alf is a very good boy if you explain softly to him why he shouldn't do something, but the experience reminded me how challenging simple things are with kids. Honestly hats off to those of you who solo parent or who juggle multiple kids day in day out. I feel pathetic sometimes but then I just think that everyone does their best. I just go with the flow!

Anyway, on potty training, I had a few weird comments in my DMs like 'omg he's still not potty trained? 🤣' and I honestly find this mentality baffling. Have you ever met a teenager that isn't potty trained? You don't get a medal for doing it fastest. Each child is different. It genuinely doesn't bother me because I really don't stress about what others are doing or how they're doing it or when. We want alf to be ready before we start and he's getting there.

Anyway, I've got a bit of work to do tonight before I start my "night shift" with my lady. ❤️🙏
