Photos by @bertiegregory | A pod of Antarctic killer whales known as B1 lines up to wave wash a Weddell seal off an ice floe. There are just a hundred or so of these special killer whales in Antarctica. They have learned that by using teamwork as a family group and water as a tool, they can create powerful waves to access seals that would otherwise be out of reach. In this image one can see each killer whale blowing bubbles; this communication is thought to be part of their complex coordination in generating a wave.
