Explore shimmering stars and bright bursts of color:  Image 1: NGC 4654 in the constellation Virgo is a massive, tilted spiral galaxy with a bright orange core, surrounded by large spiral arms glowing with bright blue stars and laced through with dark brown dust.  Image 2: NGC 612 is a Seyfert galaxy. It fills the image, viewed edge-on against black space dotted with faint stars, seen as an orange and blue streak with bright light emitting from its center.  Image 3: NGC 6951 is about 78 million light-years away. It’s a massive spiral galaxy filling the image. A glowing, bright-white center is surrounded by spiral arms full of bright blue stars and laced through with dark brown dust. Distant stars dot the rest of the image, in addition to a handful of foreground stars with diffraction spikes. A particularly bright and large foreground star is seen at lower left.  Image 4: NGC 1087 is a galaxy with a bright, yellowish core, surrounded by spiral arms most clearly defined by interlacing dark brown dust. Bursts of pink and blue star formation also crowd around the galaxy, all seen against black space.  Image 5: NGC 5068 has thousands of star-forming regions. Splotches of bright-pink and blue-white fill the lower half of the image. A bright bar of white stars extends downward from top-center toward the left.
