Luc and Bodhi are polar opposites in some ways:
Bodhi grew up fully domesticated and accustomed to a certain level of human servitude and special treatment whereas Luc spent the first six month of his life pre-adoption in the streets relying on heightened instincts to find food and cautiousness to seek shelter and survive.

Bodhi is the kind of carefree dog who would chomp into his cake ahead of everyone else and revels in praise and admiration. This year, when we baked Luc’s birthday cake and prepared presents for him, he couldn’t understand that he was the one being celebrated and kept looking at us as if to ask for our permission to have some cake, to a point where we had to crumble some off and hand-feed him his own cake.

After a while, he started to realize that he was surrounded by his family and that we were all fawning over him. It was as if a light switch went off and he understood that we were there just for him. At this moment, he grabbed hold of one of his toys that he got as a present and commenced zoomies in the living room with the biggest smile on his face.

Every year, Luc gives us the gift of more vulnerability, more trust, more ease and more love. We’re so happy and proud of him and hope that one day he will be able to fully understand how much we adore him.
