In his series “Christian Tourism,” the British photographer Jamie Lee Taete (@jamieleecurtistaete) captures the roadside kitsch of modern pilgrimage sites: creation museums, theatre ministries, religious theme parks, and more. By rarely photographing actual tourists, Taete manages to mostly poke fun at tourism itself—the sometimes shady way that even sincere believers try to make a living from their beliefs. At the link in our bio, see more of his photographs, which showcase the sometimes fine line between gimmickry and genuine belief.
