９月１１日（月）、米海兵隊副司令官スミス大将が来省し、森下陸幕長と懇談を行いました。スミス大将の米海兵隊総司令官への指名に対する祝意を表するとともに、陸軍種相互の関係がかつてないほど強固であり、二者の信頼関係をもって、更なる連携強化を図っていくことで認識を共有しました。
また、#インド太平洋地域 の平和と安定に寄与するため、日米が連携して多国間による防衛協力を推進していくことでも一致しました。🇺🇸🇯🇵

On Sep 11 2023, Gen Smith, Assistant Commandant of the Marine Corps made a visit to Camp Ichigaya to meet GEN MORISHITA, COS, JGSDF. GEN MORISHITA expressed his congratulations on the nomination of Gen Smith as Commandant of the Marine Corps and both leaders shared their recognition that the relationship between two services is stronger than ever and that they will work to further strengthen cooperation.
They also agreed that #JPN_US_alliance will further promote multinational defense cooperation for peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.🇺🇸🇯🇵
