Photo by @jaime_culebras // Under a leaf from the rainforest of Costa Rica, a male Reticulated Glass Frog (Hyalinobatrachium valerioi) guards an egg mass he has just fertilized from a female while calling to attract more females who want to perpetuate their genetic lineage. The males of some glass frogs take care of the eggs during their development until they hatch and fall into the water, where they will continue with metamorphosis. They can take care of around ten egg masses at a time.
