PEPFAR was the only good thing Bush Jr did in office. In 2003 (during the unnecessary war he started which killed over a million people directly and indirectly), he initiated an ongoing multi-billion dollar drug program to combat HIV, mostly in Africa. Over 25 miilion lives have been saved. That paragon of nonpartisan truth, the @heritagefoundation is now saying PEPFAR “promotes” abortion and that AIDS is a “lifestyle disease” when it in fact the program discourages abortion by preventing HIV+ mothers from passing it on to their children, thus removing their reason to terminate their pregnancies. Someone dies from HIV every minute. Repealing or weakening this law would raise that by thousands… if not millions. Congress must renew PEPFAR.
