“ Robbie Robertson／ロビー・ロバートソン ”  ( 元 THE BANDのギターリスト )が天国に逝ってしまった・・・
ロックミュージックを聴き始めた今から約40年前、親戚のお兄ちゃんに無理矢理聴かされた “ THE BAND ” の数々のアルバム。16歳の僕にとっては、レイドバックしまくったそのサウンドの良さが全わかりませんでした。しかしある種の修行のように,彼らのアルバムを聴き続けた結果“ THE BAND ” こそがロックというぐらい、僕の音楽観の基礎となったのです。彼らがいなかったら、ロックの歴史の背骨は、全く違う形をしていたでしょう。
バンド脱退以降のソロ活動でも、派手さはありませんが常に新しいサウンドを作り続けた孤高の天才でした。
THE BAND解散コンサートの記録映画 “ The Last Waltz ” を皆様是非ご覧ください。 ( 因みに監督はマーティン・スコセッシ ) どれだけ凄いバンドだったかよ～くわかります。
素晴らしい音楽をありがとう。素晴らしいギターサウンドをありがとう。

Robbie Robertson, former guitarist of The Band, has passed away...
When I started listening to rock music about 40 years ago, my relative's older brother forced me to listen to many albums by "the band". 16 year old me didn't understand the laid back sound at all. However, as a result of listening to their albums like a kind of training, "the band" became the foundation of my view of music, to the extent that rock music is what "the band" is all about. Without them, the spine of rock history would have a completely different shape.
Even in his solo career after leaving the band, he was not flashy, but he was a lone genius who always continued to create new sounds.
Please watch "The Last Waltz," a documentary film of the band's breakup concert. ( Directed by Martin Scorsese by the way ) You will understand how great the band was.
