On November 4th, 1922—90 years ago tomorrow—Howard Carter discovered the tomb of Egyptian pharaoh Tutankhamun, also known as King Tut, in Egypt’s Valley of the Kings. The tomb discovery gained fame due to the wealth of treasure it contained, and sparked a revived interest in all things Egyptian in the modern world. Today, tourists from all over the world visit Tut’s tomb in the Valley of the Kings, the statue of Tutankhamun and Ankhesenamun at Luxor Temple, as well as the Egyptian Museum in Cairo for a glimpse into the life of an Egyptian pharaoh.
