We’re still trying to process this, but first, before we even get into it, we want to thank our beautiful fans for getting us here because we know we wouldn’t be here without you. This means so much to us because it’s something that we never dreamed was possible for our band. We want to attempt to put into words what this means to us. So here we go… We grew up thinking that bands like us don’t get on the radio. It wasn’t common for artists in our emo/punk genre to break into that mainstream world. It seemed unreachable. Almost off-limits to us. Our songs have too much screaming, they’re too long, unorthodox, and don’t follow the typical guidelines. We always thought in the back of our minds that maybe someday we might accidentally write a song that makes it on the radio, but it seemed pretty unlikely. “It could happen, right?” We figured we’d just focus on what we knew, which was making our albums, playing as many shows as humanly possible, and connecting with as many fans around the world as we could. Fast forward 16 years of doing that, and we realized that we’d built a massive creative community and subculture around our songs.
