These turtles are highly sensitive & require intact forest to survive. For much of the 20th century, the species was not seen in the wild, until they were officially rediscovered in 2004. In 2020, @conservationorg and P&G launched the Mantalingahan Landscape Conservation Project, a five-year effort to restore and protect the Mount Mantalingahan landscape, which is located on the Philippine island of Palawan.
