She often gets cast as women with a keen, sharp wit, who may or may not be dangerous. But in person, she is warm and bubbly, and downright funny. Despite all the success she has already had, Bridget is always eager to get back in the trenches and do the work (no matter the outcome). And this work ethic is something she models for others, and everyone is better for it. Now Bridget shares some thoughts with you: Here’s what I’m working on at the moment… 1. Centering myself. Recently I noticed my nerves had gotten harder for me to manage since we no longer get to practice managing the nerves with in room auditions. For me, I’m doing meditation / prayer to connect to my breath and body, find stillness, and clear the nasty imposter voices so I can get to work. I know that I can't be creative if I’m not relaxed. I loved what Jeff Daniels said in the recent Hollywood Reporter Roundtable regarding prayer, “Let me do your work, man… Love. Love. Let’s do what what the love wants us to do.”   2. Seeing as much theater as possible. I loved what Brian Cox said in his recent Actors On Actors interview, “Theater is the one true church, because it’s the church of the human experience.” Also, I can’t hype a subscription to the National Theater at Home enough.    3. Getting uncomfortable. For me, class is everything and the place to do that. Right now I’m working on Top Girls with the incredible Amanda Brooks, playing a role I would likely never be hired to play. It’s a massive reach for me. I am endlessly thankful the opportunity to keep striving at getting better at something I love. And to quote my beloved teacher, Nancy Banks, “Actors have to act.”
BONUS - Favorite reads/watches: Larry Moss’s book, THE INTENT TO LIVE, Viola Davis’s memoir, FINDING ME and Sir Michael Cain’s Master Class ACTING ON FILM (it’s available on YouTube!)   Thank you Bridget for sharing with us!
