A few years back, the company that owns the Titanic wreck site approached me to create an immersive experience of the shipwreck. Fact is, the Titanic will collapse on itself due to erosion. The company wanted me to capture what remains of the wreck in VR before this happens. I made several trips to their headquarters, including one where I saw all the items and artifacts recovered from the wreckage. I will say, without hesitation, the idea of getting into that sub, basically a tin can, frightened me and I can only imagine one of the worst ways to go…not death by IMPLOSION. The thought of being trapped in cold inky waters, running out of oxygen and food with 5 other individuals – knowing that the odds of rescue are next to impossible. To realize that a catastrophic implosion was the fate the Titan crew met was the least painful and the likely scenario … RIP Titan crew.
