It was a cold winter day when I came to visit this potential house rental. The front door was locked, but curiosity lead me around back. I opened the weathered iron gate to an overgrown garden, and the rest of my world disappeared. All I could hear were the birds singing their songs, casually inviting me to stay a while. The birds continued to keep us company throughout the seasons of the last year and half. Nesting protectively around this magic house. Serenading us from the branches above the magic garden. Singing their songs rooted in the rhythm of “it’s going to be okay”. This garden became our grounds for springtime chalk art, Summertime picnics, Halloween graveyards, holiday snowball fights, chasing bubbles, and momma’s late nights sipping bubbles while toasting life talks by candlelight with newfound nashville friends. We were never meant to stay forever. But the memories made in those moments will live on in our hearts, and in my camera roll. A little aviary we once we called home. Now the time has come for us to fly. Thank you for your sweet songs beautiful birds.
