She suffers severe seizures every day and at risk of sudden unexpected death in epilepsy (SUDEP). Esme's mum tried an over the counter CBD oil, ESME hadn't laughed or smiled for 6 months, and this gave her some quality of life. Sadly it didn't help her seizures, Esme's mum wants to try the more advanced prescribed cannabis which has higher levels of other beneficial cannabinoids, including THC. Unfortunately these medications are not available on the NHS and no access privately and this needs to change. The restrictions for access to medical cannabis for these children are nothing short of a horror story. Yet, there is no question about the efficacy of this plant and its healing properties, and it is overwhelming clear what it does for the quality of life of these poorly children and their families. They have a human right to this medicine. A plant we inherited from the earth belongs to us and must be made readily available to those who need it. Those that block its distribution and deny its efficacy are sentencing children to short lives of pain and suffering and condemning their loved ones to an eternal life of heartache. In my view, the most significant criminal activity around cannabis is demonstrated by those who keep it from the people who need it the most, and I believe that must end Immediately.
