私当たり前のようにペットボトルを買い、その後のことをあまり考えずに捨てています。
I would often use plastic bottles and then dispose of them without thinking much about what happens afterwards.

プラスチックごみが生態系に影響を海に流出するプラスチックの量は年間800万トンもあるんだって。
Plastic waste affects the ecosystem, and the amount of plastic that flows into the ocean is 8 million tons per year.

ソーダストリームを使うことで、ペットボトルの使用量が減りました。小さな事かも知れないですが少しづつ環境問題へ意識が向く人が増えれば良いなぁと思っています。
By using SodaStream I have reduced the amount of plastic bottles we use. It may be a small thing, but I hope that more people will become aware of these environmental issues little by little.
