The @スキャパレリ Secret bag with padlock closure and 24k gold leaf hand print.

Originally designed by Elsa Schiaparelli herself as a clasp on a handbag for Haute Couture FW 1935, the padlock is an iconic code of the Maison. 

Elsa deemed the ordinary extraordinary, so the use of an unusual item like the padlock on such an everyday object gave a surreal air of mysticism, as if the bag was safeguarding the hidden treasures of its wearer’s private world.

@danielroseberry continues to use the emblem throughout the Haute Couture and RTW collections. As one of the most recognized codes, it appears on bags, bijoux, buttons and embroideries.
