The 147th annual Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show was not without its drama this year. Like any good match-up at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center (the same venue for the upcoming U.S. Open in August), the annual show descended onto Queens, New York with plenty of surprises, upsets, and entertainment in tow.

Although the 2022 runner-up, a French bulldog named Winston, was the odds-on favorite to capture best in show, it was Buddy Holly, a six-year-old Petit Basset griffon Vendéen (or PBGV), who came away the victor, a first for the French breed. Meanwhile, plenty of poodles were primped, conformations were considered, and lots of hair was shed.
