Trained in the Kyokushin style of karate and achieving a rank of 3rd in Japan at a young age, Miyu Yamashita also auditioned for many idol groups until she was introduced to MIKAMI (Kyohei Mikami) of DDT and became one of the four inaugural members of DDT's sister promotion, Tokyo Joshi Pro Wrestling. With an arsenal of stiff kicks from her martial arts background earning her the moniker of "Pink Striker", in reference to her pink and white wrestling gear and paper tape streamers, Yamashita went on to become the first ever Princess of Princess Champion (TJPW's top title, called the Tokyo Princess of Princess Champion at the time) in January 2016.
