Celebrating 24 years of partnership with the Japanese national football team. Hajime Moriyasu has been head coach of the ‘Samurai Blue’ since 2018.

For this very special edition of ‘dunhill Profiles’, we talk to Hajime about togetherness, mental strength and the power of uniform on match days. He wears selected pieces from the 2023 dunhill JFA collection.

As a player, he made 35 appearances for his country. After retiring he became a club manager, winning three league titles in six seasons – catching the eye of the Japanese FA. At the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, Moriyasu’s side defied expectations by beating Germany and Spain to reach the last 16. Dressed in immaculate dunhill JFA tailoring throughout, his stoicism and integrity was lauded by the international footballing press.
