夏の定番素材であるアバカ。フィリピン中部地方に生育するバナナに似たバショウ化の植物は、丈夫で軽く、しなやかで高い耐久性が特徴です。
繊維を細かくヒモ状にして染色し天日干ししたのち、一つ一つを職人による手作業で編んでいます。天然素材とハンドメイドによるニュアンスある個体差も楽しみの一つです。
Abaca, also named Manila Hemp, is a banana-like plant that grows in the central Philippines. It is a high-quality plant that is strong, light, supple, and highly durable. The fibres are finely strung, dyed, sun-dried and the abaca series is individually hand-knitted by artisans.
Spring/Summer 2023 Collection introduced 3 shapes of abaca bags, the shoulder type and the tote bag styles in Small and Large. Now available online and in stores.
