We’re not separate from nature, we’re part of it. We are nature. That’s it. #Earthday feels like the one day we can say that without embarrassment or being told we’re weird! Why? We should be saying that every day 🤷🏻‍♀️ As we know we are running out of chances. Every opportunity I get I promise despite being an anxious waffle monster I do my best to represent you all and your environmental futures. This #EarthDay I got to sing for @VPKamalaHarris and a community of incredible environmentalists in the US. The VP speaks on climate and nature justice SO WELL I had goosebumps. Her focus and enthusiasm for a green future and global solutions is amazing. But why is it so rare? Why are there so few leaders willing to represent our right to a liveable planet? We deserve so much more! The prize when we act is HUGE. I’m so lucky to get to visit and talk to communities on the frontline of climate impact but also visit the deepest wells of biodiversity of nature. It’s not always a doom and gloom. Take Costa Rica. Courageous leadership and earth science has come together to make Costa Rica one of the planet’s most important biodiversity hotspots. One of the things that happened in Costa Rica was that an enlightened leadership used the money nations usually spend on weapons and put it into education and nature conservation. Um yes plz?! You invest in nature and young people, and they will pay you tenfold, a hundredfold. We know this. So why not do it? This is what Earth activism means to me. What does it mean for you?
