I love being called upon to sing comedy stuff- At @letterman, the writers would get a concept and go nuts making heroes out of regular guys and do a mini-music movie video about them. Paul Shaffer would often throw the singing duties my way. For these bigger-than-life anthemic ballads, I would channel an amalgamation of Bob Seger, Jon Bon Jovi, Springsteen, Meatloaf and any number of “We Are The World” singers to get into character. The end result? Here ‘tis #thisboyslife
