One of them was born sick and weak and rejected by her mother, so Juana, the owner, covered the healthy one’s face and tied them together in order for the weak one to have a chance to get her mother’s warmth and milk.⁠ ⁠ “After taking this picture, I asked Juana if I could take the weak goat home with me until she became strong. I fed her by the fireplace for a few days, got her nice and healthy, and gave her a name, Rosita. Then I took her back to Juana’s. Usually, once an animal is named, it’s saved from slaughter, so Juana painted a dot on Rosita’s forehead to distinguish her from the rest.
