Imagine all of us on a tiny dot.

Smaller than that, even. Back in July 2022, we showed you Webb’s first deep field, the deepest and sharpest infrared view of the universe ever taken. Some cosmic perspective: Those tiny dots are galaxies! Thousands of galaxies and even more stars are in this image alone. Light from some of these galaxies traveled billions of years to get to us. And yet, this is just a small speck of the vast universe. If you held a grain of sand up to the sky at arm’s length, *that* is what is covered by Webb’s view here.

So yes, space can make us feel small. But we trust that whatever you’re working towards — even if you’re getting through one day at a time — is significant. And we’re right there with you, part of that same speck that is our galaxy in the wide universe ❤️

Video Description: The video begins by panning down and then right across sections of Webb’s first deep field. On a black background, many galaxies and stars appear in different shapes, sizes, and brightness. Some are more orange and red, and others are blue or white. One very large and bright star, with eight diffraction spikes branching out from it, fills the frame from around 0:17 to 0:22. The video then zooms out to show more of the full picture. Text on the video reads: “Take a step back. Sometimes you need to see the bigger picture. Out of all the galaxies and stars, we’re glad you’re here with us.” Gentle music plays throughout.
