A full color catalogue with an essay by Wayne Koestelbaum accompanies the exhibition. For the exhibition, Haines has created new and exciting paintings that further his exploration of maleness, street style and eternal youth. Exuberance radiates from his passionate observation of young models who strut down Manhattan Avenue, luxuriate in thruples or study their nude reflections as Bushwick Narcissi. Inspired by equally classical French painting and Instagram (high/low; glamour/grit), Haines called on his decades of artistic experience to create art that is thoroughly inspiring. Haines makes an appearance in a unique self-portrait while creating a selfie in a full length mirror within his atelier. The self-portrait, a first for Haines, is lavished in hues of pink and green as the artist presents himself - beanie perched on head, chic blue jacket draped casually l, graphic Ted and white New Balance. More rebel teen than experienced artist, teacher, mentor. Richard Haines’ work has been exhibited internationally and is included in many prestigious private collections across the world.
