After the Labor Dept. found over 100 migrant children cleaning slaughterhouses, their employer paid a fine and agreed to stop employing children.
But a 16-year-old tells @NBC News he’s still cleaning one of the slaughterhouses up to seven nights a week.
The teen, who @NBC News is caling Pedro, says he is responsible for hauling animal parts in a cart and then scrubbing blood off the floor with harsh chemicals.
@NBC News first reported that DHS was investigating a potential human trafficking scheme that has profited off of children working for multiple companies tied to the meatpacking industry.
