To cut a very long story into a very short one, we hadn’t spent long with Sandy, she was covered in flees and this area was her home for the first 2 months of her life. Considering she’d slept outside every night of her life so far, we didn’t want her to get attached to us and we didn’t want a bed full of flees, ticks and lice, one more night wouldn’t hurt her. As you can guess, we didn’t get much sleep and we couldn’t stop thinking about the situation and what to do. We both looked at each other and said “if she’s outside waiting for us right now, we have to rescue her.
