At the start of the clip, the mom is seen maintaining her fur with oil secreted from a special gland. It enables a waterproof coat in order to keep beavers warm while spending so much time in cold water. Beavers are a keystone species, which means biodiversity is boosted when they're present in their native ecosystems. They can also provide benefits to arid places utilized by humans through their building of dams, which help keep water on the landscape longer by slowing, raising, and spreading water.
