JJ.Acunaさんのインスタグラム写真 - (JJ.AcunaInstagram)「This spring, Ghanaian-American curator, Larry Ossei-Mensah @larryosseimensah launches an exhibition in collaboration with a group of Asia-based collectors led by Tim Tan @timtan823 - taking art lovers on an immersive and explorative journey on the art pieces by 20 contemporary artists all over the world, representing the African diaspora on issues regarding identities of Blackness on a societal level down to the personal. Last month on my birthday, I was invited to check out the opening of this amazing exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Manila now in its new location in BGC. I appreciate so much the willingness to share this really current personal collection of works- dated for the most part from 2020 to 2022 - and proud to have a show like this, a general first in Asia launching in Manila of all places. Artists include (in order of my slides above) works by Patrick Eugene (2021), Amaoko Boafo (2020), Hugo McCLoud’s plastic bags on wood panel (2020), Vaughn Spann (2021), Bongani Tshabalala (2021), David Mr. Starcity White (2021), Izere Antoine (2022), Nathaniel Mary Quinn (2017), Kehinde Wiley (2006), and Tunji Adeniyi-Jones (2022)- currently enjoying a solo show in Hong Kong’s White Cube.
